Time Line

The timeline of development has been pushed back. There are 4 quarters in a year, 3 Trimesters in a year, and 2 Semesters in a year. Hence, Q4 would indicate the last 3 months in a given year, T3 would indicate the last 4 months in a year, and S2 would indicate the last 6 months in a year.

Q: Quarter, T:Trimester, S:Semester

  • V3 of the Website (Q3 2017)
  • VoxElyria (Q4 2017)
  • Alpha 1 (T1 2018)
  • Server Selection (T1 2018)
  • Settlement / Domain Selection (T2 2018)
  • KoE (T2 2018)
  • Design Experiences (T3 2018)
  • Alpha 2 (T3 2018)
  • Beta 1 (S1 2019)
  • Prologue & CoE Adventure Toolkit (S1 2019)
  • Exposition (S1 2019)
  • Beta 2 (S1/S2 2019)
  • Stress Test (Any paid account)(S2 2019)
  • Launch (S2 2019)

It is important to note that Exposition in the list above isn't when exposition starts, but when work on Exposition begins.

Exposition: Chronicles of Elyria

Exposition is the name given to the first 3 months of game launch. Players awarded the opportunity to play during Exposition are Elyrian trail blazers helping to characterize the world so that new players will have a frame of reference. There are three ways to obtain Exposition status:

  • Private invite (more or less restricted to friends and families.)
  • Back the game with an amount of $125 or more (Bloodline package or better).
  • By gaining influence (recruiting others to the game).

Although Exposition can be considered early access, it should not be confused with the Alpha and Beta releases of the game. Exposition will follow Beta 2 and precede the public launch. Any progress made during Alpha/Beta stages will not carry over to the official launch. However, all progress made during Exposition will be persistent.

Alpha & Beta

These frames are relative to Exposition:

  • Alpha 1: 18+ months prior to Exposition
  • Alpha 2: 12-18 months prior to Exposition
  • Beta 1: 6-12 months prior to Exposition
  • Beta 2: 3-6 months prior to Exposition

As a general rule of thumb, we have been advised to anticipate about 6 months of time for each of the Alpha/Beta phases listed above.

Kingdoms of Elyria

Kingdoms of Elyria is a top-down, 2D graphical overlay game mode similar to a strategy game. This game mode permits players with domain permissions to control various aspects of the land and Kingdom that they control.

KoE includes the abilities to:

  • Change alliances
  • declare wars
  • declare land zones
  • fight for shared resources
  • invest in research
  • send couriers
The COE Store

It should be noted that while backers can buy pledge packs prior to game launch, the only thing players will be able to purchase post launch, aside from the game, will be additional souls and sparks of life. This means that there will be no pay to win options or micro-transactions. Either you have paid to play the game, or you have not.

I'm no longer supporting CoE

The offer is over and I can no longer support this game due to Soul Bound Studio staff misconduct which has led me to believe that any potentially good game experience will be ruined by Chronicles of Elyria staff.
